Space as a catalyst for industrial innovation: Elemaster Group at National Conference of Young Entrepreneurs

Elemaster was honoured to take part in the 54th National Conference of Young Entrepreneurs in Rapallo, held on 13th-14th June. Centred on the theme of pushing beyond the boundaries of space, the event explored how the Space Economy can unlock new possibilities for innovation on Earth.

The conference featured many distinguished guests reinforcing the importance of space-related research as a strategic asset for national growth and youth engagement in STEM disciplines.

In this inspiring context, Valentina Cogliati, President & CEO of Elemaster Group, within the panel discussion included both Ugo Salerno, Executive Chairman of RINA, and Cristina Leone, Senior Vice President at Leonardo and President of the National Aerospace Technology Cluster, delivered a dedicated contribution on the Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO), the world’s most ambitious radio telescope under construction in the Australian desert, where Elemaster, alongside other Italian companies, is involved in designing and producing the signal processing subsystem, highlighting how the Group’s expertise supports scientific discovery through advanced electronics.

Moreover, her inspired speech emphasized the pivotal role of space exploration in driving technological advancements, highlighting that space initiatives not only generate revenue and employment but also serve as significant technological multipliers, citing the Apollo missions as historical examples that led to over 6,000 innovations in products and processes. In this way, daily life benefits from technologies developed for space exploration, which are not mere science fiction but real industrial innovations.

She also discussed the broader implications of such projects, including international cooperation, Italy’s role in global scientific endeavors, and the collaboration between research institutions and the industrial sector, not to mention the potential medical applications of space research, such as innovative therapies tested in microgravity conditions, which could revolutionize terrestrial medicine.

The session was moderated by David Parenzo.

Elemaster’s presence in Rapallo once again confirmed the Group’s commitment to driving innovation in high-tech sectors, on Earth and beyond.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Young Entrepreneurs of Confindustria and President Maria Anghileri for the kind invitation to participate to such an inspiring event, rich in ideas, energy, and forward-thinking perspectives. The Elemaster Group deeply appreciated the opportunity to share experiences and engage with so many passionate and visionary young leaders.” Concluded Valentina Cogliati.
