Elemaster is really proud to have been chosen to host the XXV National ESD Conference, a highly prestigious event in our sector. This yearly appointment, held today 12th June at our Headquarters, was not only an honor but also a recognition of our constant commitment to excellence and innovation in the world of electronics.
At Elemaster, we’re passionately dedicated to being the ideal partner for those seeking complex electronic solutions. We offer expertise that spans the entire product lifecycle, from concept to production of fully assembled turnkey solutions, employing cutting-edge technologies that allow us to achieve extremely high-quality standards. Our strength also lies in the flexibility with which we approach every project, offering customized solutions that meet the specific needs of crucial sectors such as automotive, medical, aerospace, hi-mobility and industrial. All of this is done with meticulous attention to quality that permeates every phase of our work.
Being the venue for the National ESD Conference testifies to our prominent position in the Italian electronics landscape, and we have been thrilled to meet many experts and professionals for a moment of sharing and growth.
The day began with a welcome speech led by the owners, followed by a company presentation aimed not only at illustrating the Group’s characteristics and future prospects, but also at sharing real-life case studies of the application of ESD regulations, for example within projects such as SKAO, fully discussed with the Eletech team, Group’s R&D division.
Then, the floor was passed to the experts, who analysed various aspects of the discipline, concluding the classroom part with an interesting round table discussion in which the various guests exchanged views with the speakers.
Among the presentations that enriched the conference, we highlight:
- « Union between ESD and Artificial Intelligence » – Gianfranco Coletti (UNIGE): This will explore how Generative AI (GAI) can offer new solutions to address challenges in the context of electrostatic discharges, evolving from traditional AI approaches.
- « Analysis and Qualification of ESD Safe Products and Materials » – S. Gatti (Datalogic): This presentation will focus on the importance of obtaining repeatable measurements in the ESD field, analyzing a draft IEC document and providing tools for a full understanding of measurements.
- « Technological Evolution » – Paolo Morselli (L3 HARRIS): This will present L3Harris – Calzoni’s experience in the A&D market, tracing the stages of technological evolution and the increasing integration of electromechanical and electronic solutions in their systems.
- « Management of ESD Events » – Andrea Guzzi (Company ESD Leader at Elemaster), Lino Lalli (Quality Control & Process Safety at Elemaster), Giuseppe Angelo Reina (EL.BO. Service):
This discussion will cover how to improve the assembly of semiconductors and PCBAs, focusing on charge redistribution and the transfer of subatomic particles in EPA and ATEX areas.
- « ESD and Statistical/Lean Manufacturing Methodologies » – Paolo Settimi and Fausto Spaggiari (Mancini Enterprise): This will illustrate how the application of ESD specifications and statistical/lean manufacturing methodologies are interconnected to achieve competitive and reliable productions, considering product traceability.
- « Prevention of ESD Risks during Electronic Board Assembly » – Michele Mattei (I-TRONIK): This will focus on the critical issues related to automated component assembly (P&P) and the solutions developed to prevent ESD problems in modern production lines.
- « ESD Flooring » – Domenico Carotenuto (Forbo): This will address the importance of adopting materials that limit ESD events in protected areas and cleanrooms, analyzing the characteristics and advantages of ESD resilient flooring and self-laying solutions.
- « ESD Integration in Technical Furniture » – Andrea Cappelli (Nuova Consul): This will examine how technical furniture for professional environments must comply with current regulations, considering intensive use.
- « Packaging as a Safeguard for ESD Prevention » – Alessandra Crippa (Scatolicio Crippa): This will emphasize the crucial role of packaging in preventing damage from electrostatic discharges for sensitive components, in compliance with regulations.
- « Regulatory Bodies, Technical Bodies, and Regulatory Documents » – Giovanni Franzi (CEI): This will provide an overview of the Italian Electrotechnical Committee (CEI), its regulatory activities, organizational structure, and the process of developing regulatory documents at national, European, and international levels.
At the end of the event, we extend our sincere gratitude to the National ESD Conference for this important opportunity. We also wish to express our special thanks to our quality team for their all efforts in making this event a reality.
